HEROIC PUBLISHING'S TIGRESSHeroic Publishing has announced that the all-new Tigress begins a series of adventures in the third issue Tales of the Champions, on sale Dec. 21.
The issue is by writer Wilson Hill and artist Daerick Gross, with an inking assist from Jeff Brennan.
Here's how the issue is described:
"The story, begins at Kassidy Farrell's high school graduation party. There, on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, she enters into a conspiracy with her two best friends to sneak away for a summer vacation in Mexico.
"But as soon as she's away from the protective influence of her powerful father, Kass becomes the target of a man named Seth Adams, the dangerous leader of the infamous Cult of the Serpent. Years ago, it was a member of this cult who caused the death of Kassidy's mother. Now it's time for the cult to claim the daughter. And it needs to be done immediately, before she can come to an awareness of who she is, what her powers are, and why Seth Adams sees her as a threat. In this, Seth Adams succeeds. Kassidy Farrell is killed. But her story is far from done."
Beginning in Tales of the Champions #4, Dick Giordano takes over as regular artist. The issue chronicles Kassidy Farrell's return from the imminence of death as the newest incarnation of the Tigress. As the Tigress, Kassidy is obliged to use her newfound strength and skills to rescue her friends from Seth Adams' clutches. In the process, Kass acts ruthlessly, for a brief moment fully becoming the avatar of an unforgiving power that has struggled for ages, throughout myriad mortal lives, to raise mankind up against the forces of darkness that would seek to drag us down.
Tony Isabella will then become writer.
DARK HORSE'S THE PERHAPANAUTSTodd Dezago and Craig Rousseau, who previously collaborated on Impulse and Tales of Tellos, are teaming on Dark Horse Comics' The Perhapanauts, a four-issue mini-series that launches on Nov. 23
Here's how Dark Horse describes the book:
"There are places in this world where the fabric of reality has worn thin and creatures from other realms and bizarre beings from other dimensions slip through. Fortunately, there exists a secret organization that has taken upon itself the responsibility to confront these creatures. Made up of agents that are adept at turning them back from whence they came, this organization is as bizarre as the creatures it battles. Consisting of ghosts, aliens, faeries, and Bigfoot, the organization is called BEDLAM. The agents are called...The Perhapanauts!"
"With The Perhapanauts, Craig and I have created a team of agents charged with investigating bizarre occurrences and the appearance of strange creatures. Bigfoot, aliens, chupacabras, ghosts," Dezago said. "Coincidentally, the team is also made up of some of these same strange creatures and their adventures into the unexplained, the supernatural, and the just plain creepy, are only half the story.
"Back at headquarters they are a very interesting mix; the chupacabra drinks blood out of juice boxes, Bigfoot is a genius, and the ghost is in denial about ever having died. Craig and I have built a long story for these guys that is full of twists and turns that will have readers guessing right up to the last panel!"
