X-MEN: DEADLY GENESIS SECOND PRINTING

Marvel Comics is going back to press on X-Men: Deadly Genesis #1 following sell-outs of both cover versions (by Marc Silvestri and Joe Quesada).

The new variant cover will be penciled by series artist Trevor Hairsine and will feature a menacing Wolverine, as seen in the sketch shown to the right. (Click on the thumbnail for a larger image).

"I couldn't be more overwhelmed, honestly," said writer Ed Brubaker. "To get the chance to write such a big project for Marvel in the first place was so out of this world, but to have the first issue of my highest selling project ever sell-out right away like this, it's almost more than I can wrap my head around.

"I'm... I'm tempted to go to Disneyland. But I have too many deadlines."

RAMON BACHS EXCLUSIVE TO MARVEL

Ramon Bachs, artist on the Generation M mini-series, has signed an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics.

His first assignment as a Marvel exclusive will be taking over the art chores on The Pulse. He will join Generation M writer Paul Jenkins to become the new creative team when the title goes monthly with issue #15.

"I just thought it was the right choice," Bachs said. "The conditions Marvel offered me were very good, and the possibility of having the chance to work with Paul Jenkins for a long time finally convinced me. I have been wanting to work with him for awhile."

Bachs has worked at several other publishers, including DC and Dark Horse, and is making his first foray into the Marvel Universe with Generation M.

"Ramon's work over at the Distinguished Competition established that he is amazingly adept at creating a realistic environment and conveying emotion," said Nick Lowe, Bachs' editor on Generation M.

"Since Generation M is a book all about the ramifications of the massive mutant power-loss and the emotional journeys that these former-mutants embark on, Ramon jumped out as the perfect artist for it. He makes you feel what these people are feeling in a very real way. I cannot express how glad I am to have Ramon on this project."

Starting with The Pulse #15, he and Jenkins will shift the focus to reporter Sally Floyd from Generation M.

CHRIS CLAREMONT'S NEXT PROJECT UP TO READERS

Marvel Comics is giving its readers the chance to determine what Chris Claremont's next X-project will be through an online poll.

"We're putting this in the hands of the fans and we couldn't be more excited about the possibilities," said editor Mark Paniccia. "These four options all sound cool enough to support their own mini-series but only one can win."

By voting on Marvel.com, fans will have a chance to determine what 6-issue X-Men mini-series Claremont will tackle after X-Men: The End.

All four of the possible title choices take place outside of current continuity, including stories from previously visited alternate universes as well as an entirely new X-Men universe.

The choices are:

* Days of Future Past: This series would pick up the moment after Kitty Pryde sent Rachel Grey into the past from the original story. The world is under the rule of Sentinels, most mutants are either killed or in camps, and only a strange alliance of outlaws stand a chance at changing this dark future.

* Asgardian War Stories: During the Asgardian War, the X-Men, Alpha Flight, and the New Mutants all fought alongside the Norse Gods. But what would have happened if they never returned to Earth and stayed in Asgard?

* Next: Witness today's generation of X-Men if the Marvel Universe aged in real-time. Both the first and second teams of X-Men are approaching 50 and the New Mutants are now in their thirties. This series will follow this new generation of X-Men and the new reality they find themselves in.

* What If? X-Men: Continuing from 2004's What If Magneto and Professor X Had Formed the X-Men Together?, this series would be a re-imagining of the X-Men in contemporary times from an entirely all-new perspective Because of Magneto helping found the X-Men, not only has the history of the X-Men changed, but that of the entire world. Every character's life and future is up for grabs here.

BRIEFLY

* In addition to the previously reported Grey DeLisle as Wasp and Olivia D'Abo as Black Widow, the voice cast of the direct-to-DVD Ultimate Avengers animated movie will include Justin Gross as Captain America, Marc Worden as Iron Man, Dave Boat as Thor, Fred Tatsciore as Hulk, Michael Massee as Bruce Banner, Nolan North as Giant-Man and Andre Ware as Nick Fury.
