Image Comics is reporting that the Spawn Collection Vol 1 TP and Spawn Manga Vol. 1 TP have both sold out at Diamond before reaching stores.

"It's great to see the enthusiasm for Spawn after all these years," said Todd McFarlane. "We intended to invigorate the title and obviously the selling out of issue 150, the Trade, and Manga shows we're on the right track. We appreciate the support, and plan to build on that momentum."

Image announced an immediate reprinting of both volumes, targeted for early February.

Spawn Collection Vol. 1 TP collects Spawn #1-8, 10 and 11. Spawn Manga Vol. 1 TP is the first of three volumes collecting the entire Spawn Manga series, never before published in the United States and created by Juzo Tokoro.

In other Image news:

* Due to a listing error in Previews, Doll and Creature #1 was incorrectly solicited with a cover price $3.50. The cover price is $2.99.

* Small Gods returns in March with a full-color, two-issue mini-series.

"It's something of a reprieve, really," said creator/writer Jason Rand. "We were all more or less resigned to the cancellation, moving on to new projects and other work. And then, when the official announcement was made and we got such an outcry from the readers and probably more coverage from the comic press than we'd had since we first started, it was very gratifying - almost overwhelming in fact. When Image decided to give the book a second chance, that was just the cherry on top. It's like we're back almost before we left."

Starring one of the title's most popular characters, precog and telepath Owen Young, the self-contained mini-series tells the story of his first encounter with an unusual team of bodyguards consisting entirely of psychics.

The art is Juan E. Ferreyra and Clayton Brown.

* Warner Home Video has announced a Feb. 7 release date for 1989's Batman movie on UMD. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image of the packaging.

* The Painkiller Jane movie on Sci Fi garnered a 1.9 household rating with 1.25 million persons 25-54 and 2.3 million overall viewers. Along with The Triangle series, it helped Sci Fi to be No. 1 among basic cable stations for the week.

* Vicente Cifuentes, who has drawn 10th Muse since #6, has been named the regular penciler of the book.

"Vicente did such a great job on 10th Muse fill-in issues, beginning with #6, that I thought he not only deserved to go full-time, but that he'd also have fun on another book of ours, called The Odyssey," said Blue Waterıs managing editor, Darren G. Davis. "Working on a team book can be very different for an artist, and it gave him the chance to flex some new creative muscles."

In The Odyssey, set to hit shops in February, Cifuentes joins writer Chad Rebmann and co-artist Nadir Balan, for a 48-page special that continues the events from 10th Muse #11, where the Muse is mad with power and taken control of Mt. Olympus. Now the line between enemy and hero has been crossed when the evil Medusa joins forces with Judo Girl, Atlas, Orion the hunter, Wonder Boy, and the Valkyrie to stop their former ally.
