WONDERCON: IMAGE COMICS PANEL

SAN FRANCISCO -- Image Comics will release The Art of Brian Bolland, the publisher announced at its panel on Friday at WonderCon.

The 176-page book will be hardcover.

Following is a rundown of other highlights:

* Frank Cho said he hopes to be able to produce two issues a year of Liberty Meadows.

"It all depends on my Marvel schedule, and they're swamping me right now," he said.

* Bomb Queen creator Jimmie Robinson said that the series is edgy. "It is not being carried at some retail outlets because of that," he said.

* Five Fists of Science is a 120-page original graphic novel by Matt Fraction and Steve Sanders. It is the story of Mark Twain and Nikola Tesla teaming up to bring about world peace by compulsion-- and how that peace will interfere with the plans of an evil science cabal led by Thomas Edison.

* Spawn Vol. 2 is scheduled for a May release. The book will collect Spawn #13-33, which includes the end of Todd McFarlane's art run, the Marc Silvestri issue and the beginning of Greg Capullo's run. The book will cost $29.95.

* The Small Gods team of Jason Rand and Juan Ferreyra are teaming on Emissary, a Shadowline title created by Jim Valentino. "It's a re-examination of the super-hero," said Image's Jim Demonakos, "and how the real world would react to a super-human."

* A big change is coming in Noble Causes, leading to the series' 25th issue.

* Amazing Joy Buzzards writer Mark Smith said a second trade paperback is targeted for June.

* Rick Remender said that a new artist will replace Cory Walker (now on Marvel Team-Up) to rotate with Tony Moore on Fear Agent. He wouldn't disclose the artist's name, but said he is a former Russ Manning Award winner.

* Remender also noted that Salgood Sam and Paul Harmon will be collaborating on future issues of Sea of Red.

* Eric Larsen said he has not definitive ending for Savage Dragon. "The plan is for me to die and all those plot points will never be tied up," Larsen said, nothing that Mr. Glum is going to take over the world.
