FRIDAY, MARCH 10, 2006JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED UPDATEThe "Grudge Match" episode of Justice League Unlimited will premiere on Cartoon Network on Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
Here's how the network describes the episode:
"Roulette starts Metabrawl again, this time with an all-female fight card made up of Justice Leaguers."
The episode has a story by Matt Wayne and a teleplay by J.M. DeMatteis.
"J.M. DeMatteis has written some of the best comics ever and several of the best JLU episodes," Wayne told The Continuum. "It was a privilege getting to work with him on 'Grudge Match.' It's about the most thoughtful, character-driven 22-minute catfight I've ever seen, and we're very proud of it."
Look also for a fleeting cameo of a character that appears to be shown in JLU for the first time.
Voices include Morena Baccarin as Black Canary, Amy Acker as Huntress, Virginia Madsen as Roulette and Gina Torres as Vixen.

NARWAIN PUBLISHING'S MISERERENarwain Publishing has provided The Continuum with a preview of Miserere #1, the launch of a new mini-series by writer El Torres and artsti Antonio Vazquez.
Here's how Narwain describes the mini-series:
"A country devastated by war, a child held hostage by monstrous monarch, and a mysterious hunter driven by a divine mandateŠthese are the elements of Narwain Publishing's epic miniseries Miserere.
"The year is 1367 and the countries of Europe are locked in a bitter and violent struggle that will later be called the Hundred Years War. At the center of it is King Pedro I, the ruler of Castile, better known as Pedro the Cruel for his reputation for visiting horrors on those who oppose him. Nobody knows this better than the nameless child Pedro has imprisoned at the behest of his royal wizard.
"When the child escapes a massive manhunt begins and a wandering demon hunter enters the conflict. But is he here to capture the child, or bring the mercy of the dagger to the king's throat?
"The war between men and their politics is about to become a struggle between heaven and hell in Miserere."

DEAD @17 ONGOINGViper Comics has announced an ongoing Dead @17 series from creator Josh Howard.
A 10-page Dead @17 story will appear in Viper Comics Presents for Free Comic Book Day in May before the new series launches in August.
"It's been something I've been thinking about for awhile," Howard said. "I needed a break from the Dead world to recharge my batteries and figure out where I wanted to take it. I'm just coming off of two other books for other publishers, and it just felt like the right time to return."
Howard likened the 10-page story as "the closest thing you can get to a comic book trailer."
"I knew I didn't
want to just slap in the first 10 pages from issue 1 or write some kind of
meaningless introduction," Howard said. "I had the idea of a voice over,
of someone giving this almost poetic re-introduction to the Dead @17 world. It's
the closest thing you can get to a comic book trailer."
In the new series, Howard promises to introduce the world to a new cast of Darlington Hills residents. "New readers aren't really required to know anything about what's come before. I'm doing my best to make this accessible to everyone," he said.
