THURSDAY, MAY 4, 2006COMING FRIDAY X-Men news -- and much more!!!
"Alive!," the next-to-last episode of Justice League Unlimited, will premiere on Cartoon Network on Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
The episode was written by Matt Wayne and directed by Dan Riba.
Here's how the network describes the two-part finale:
"In a knock-down, drag-out battle on Earth and in space, the power moving behind the scenes of the villains is revealed leading to the most unexpected team-up in Justice League history."
"I'm so glad we did this two-part series finale, 'Alive!' this week and 'Destroyer' the next," Wayne told The Continuum. "Luthor's been obsessed with bringing back Brainiac all season. All of that effort pays off in this episode, and a few major storylines get resolved.
"This two-parter's the last JLU story, and Dan Riba, the director, went for broke. I'd never seen this much action in a half-hour.
"And then 'Destroyer' next week tops it."

X-MEN: THE LAST STAND UPDATE Three new commercials for X-Men: The Last Stand are running, one of which appears to show Iceman in his frost form (click on image above).
In fact, Bobby Drake seems to be at the center of the ads, whether its be his love triangle with Rogue and Kitty or his fight with Pyro.
Also among the interesting new images is one of Rogue absorbing Colossus' powers (see below).
In other X-Men news, ABC has provided The Continuum with an image from Ian McKellen's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night. Although McKellen focused more on promoting The DaVinci Code, he did mention that his internet diary, which has documented his involvement with X-Men from the first movie, actually pre-dated blogs.
"You're the Blog Father!" Kimmel exclaimed, as both laughed.

ULTIMATE FF #30 PREVIEWMarvel Comics on Thursday provided The Continuum with a preview of Ultimate Fantastic Four #30, which kicks off the "Frightful" story by Mark Millar and Greg Land.
Here's how Marvel describes the book:
"After time-traveling, visiting twisted parallel universes, and unearthing an ancient terror, Mark Millar and Greg Land are ready to unleash something truly 'frightful' on the Ultimate Fantastic Four: the return of Dr. Doom.
"Ultimate Fantastic Four #30 kicks off 'Frightful' which sees not only the return of Doom, but the introduction of the Ultimate Frightful Four as well. And if the deck wasn't stacked enough against the FF, the zombies held captive in the Baxter Building since the 'crossover' storyline make their escape."
There will be a variant cover for Ultimate Fantastic Four #30 featuring a zombie rendition of the original Fantastic Four #1 by Arthur Suydam, the man behind the covers and variant covers of the Marvel Zombies series. LORDS OF AVALON TO DB PRO Dabel Brothers Production announced on Thursday that it has signed an exclusive contract with author Kinley MacGregor to adapt the first five novels in her fantasy and romance series, Lords of Avalon.
Lords of Avalon: Sword of Darkness will be produced as a monthly 22-page comic starting this fall, with a script written by Roynne Gillespie and illustrations by an artist to be announced.
A graphic novel edition should be available in bookstores by next spring.
Here's how DB Pro describes the book:
"Sword of Darkness, the first novel in the series, tells the story of a dark-hearted knight named Kerrigan who wields the demonic sword Caliburn, Excalibur's polar opposite. Camelot has fallen to the forces of evil, and the knights of the round reside in Avalon, waiting for the birth of the one they call 'Penmerlin,' a special person who will lead the lesser wizards of the realm. They select a young maiden named Seren to be the mother of this figure, but a 'rescue' from Kerrigan results in her falling in love and eventually becoming pregnant with his child. Seren must choose between abandoning the evil knight and training her child in the path of light or staying with Kerrigan and attempting to help him turn away from the life he has chosen."
"I couldn't be more thrilled to be working with DB Pro since I've been a fan of the Dabel Brothers since they came onto the scene," MacGregor said. ³The quality of art and interpretation is second to none. I'm extremely honored to be added to their line-up. I'm a child of the graphic novel and in that field, DB Pro rules."
