X-MEN: THE LAST STAND UPDATEHugh Jackman, who returns as Wolverine in X-Men: The Last Stand, said the Fastball Special scene with Daniel Cudmore's Colossus was tricky to pull off.
"Daniel did some of it, but the actual throw was done by his double," Jackman said. "Because it was a very potentially dangerous stunt. Daniel would have done it, but they wouldn't allow him. And it was very hard to get it to fly straight. And if it wasn't straight, there were cameras I could hit."
Jackman said he was on a cable 300 yards long, coming within five feet of the cameras.
"We'd always spoke about the Fastball Special and the Danger Room, so it was great we could get it in," Jackman said.
Director Brett Ratner said that the fact that the Fastball Special pays off later in the movie was one of the reasons he was able to get the Danger Room sequence in the film.
