WIZARD WORLD PHILADELPHIA: CUP O' JOE PANEL

PHILADELPHIA -- Greg Land will be the artist for Marvel Comics' Ultimate Power crossover, it was announced Saturday at Marvel's Cup O' Joe panel at Wizard World Philadelphia.

Ultimate Power is a nine-issue mini-series pairing characters from the Ulimate Universe and Squadron Supreme Universe.

Three issues each will be written by J. Michael Strazynski, Brian Michael Bendis and Jeph Loeb.

In other news from the panel:

* Ed McGuinness' exclusive with Marvel was officially announced. Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada said that McGuinness is working on a project with Loeb that will be announced soon.

* The panel kicked off with a trailer for Planet Hulk, put together by writer Greg Pak.

* Among the images released by Marvel were from Stan Lee Meets, a series of five-one shots that will include the Marvel figurehead meeting his creations; the Halo graphic novel and The Eternals.

* She-Hulk writer Dan Slott said with the cancellation of Thing, he will focus only on She-Hulk for the time being to keep on deadline.

* Quesada said there are more plans for Marvel comics on the Internet.

* Editor Tom Brevoort reiterated that the Inhumans' issues with the United States government and the Terragen crystals will continue through Civil War and beyond.

*The Doctor Strange mini-series by Brian K Vaughan and Marcos Martin is targeted to launch in October.

* Quesada said future Marvel annuals will continue for important events.

* Quesada said Alan Davis' Fantastic Four: The End is next in the series, and Brevoort said more will follow.
