Kevin Spacey, who plays Lex Luthor in Superman Returns, didn't actually see the movie until its premiere last Wednesday.

"I was very excited to see it," Spacey said during an appearance on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday night. "I think what Bryan (Singer, director) has done is he's both made a film that feels like it's a continuation of the original Donner films -- we've kind of ignored parts 3 and 4, so it picks up five years after part 2 -- but it also feels like a whole new (film).

"More mature...they've grown up, all these characters."
