CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Civil War event and its repercussions were the primary themes of Marvel Comics' panel at Heroes Con, led by editor-in-chief Joe Quesada, on Saturday.

Following are some of the highlights.

* Asked about a Nova ongoing following Annihilation, Quesada said that it was a "possibility" and that "certain things" will break out of Annihilation.

* Quesada said the Winter Soldier will play "a very big part in the world of Marvel super-heroes and Captain America."

* Daniel Way, writer of the new Ghost Rider series, said the situation with Danny Ketch will be resolved, but the book will feature Johnny Blaze.

Way said he's been bowled over by the art on Ghost Rider by javier Saltares and Mark Texeira. "It's like they've been waiting for their triumphant return," he said.

* Spirits of Vengeance, by Garth Ennis and Clayton Crain, will be a series of mini-series.

* Quesada said an announcement regarding Bryan Hitch's next project after Ultimates 2 should come this summer.

* Amazing Spider-Man writer J. Michael Straczynski on Peter Parker's unmasking: "He really can't recant the revealing of his identity. There's no going back on that."

* Civil War Front Line writer Paul Jenkins said an upcoming story will see a foreign team of super-heroes setting down in the United States. "They're going to say, 'We're not of your country. Come and arrest us,'" Jenkins said.

* Straczynski noted on character will leave the United States rather than deal with registration. "He'll say, 'I'm going to Paris,' which is what he'll do," Straczynski said.

* Even with the upcoming wedding of Black Panther and Storm, Quesada said the title will remain Black Panther.

* Stracyznski said his Icon title, The Book of Lost Souls, will continue, with #7 due in two months.

* C.B. Cebulski said that Power Pack and Avengers Assemble! is doing very well outside the direct market and will be followed by a Power Pack/Spider-Man mini-series. He also said the Power kids might be showing up in the Marvel Universe proper soon.

* Jenkins said he has many more ideas for The Sentry and his role in the Marvel Universe.

* Will Alpha Flight return? "Yes and no," Quesada said. "You're going to love it and you're going to hate it."

* Quesada said he finished penciling the final issue of Daredevil: Father two months ago, but his inker and colorist had more pressing monthly deadlines. He expects the issue this fall.

* Quesada said that there are no plans for additional Ultimate titles, but there will be a big event in the universe.

* Straczynski hinted that the upcoming Ultimate Power event might result in some characters switching universe after it is over.

* Quesada said that Greg Pak is the writing on Incredible Hulk for "the forseeable future."
