COMING WEDNESDAY

First Looks, solicitations -- and much more!!!

SMALLVILLE'S JIMMY OLSEN

Aaron Ashmore will play Jimmy Olsen in the sixth season of Smallville, executive producer Al Gough confirmed for The Continuum.

"We are very excited to have Aaron joining the show as Jimmy Olsen," Gough told The Continuum on Tuesday night. "We had been big fans of his work on Veronica Mars and think he'll be a great addition to the cast.

"Also, I think it will be great that our perennial third wheel Chloe Sullivan will finally get some romantic action with a non krypto-freak!"

Ashmore, 26, recently played Troy Vandegraff in UPN's Veronica Mars, from which the image on the right is taken.

Ashmore is the twin brother of Shawn Ashmore, who played Iceman in the last two X-Men movies and also played the power-absoring Eric Summers in two episodes of Smallville.

SABRINA TRADE PAPERBACK

Archie Comics has scheduled an October release for Sabrina the Teenage Witch: The Magic Revisited, a 112-page trade paperback collecting the manga-style stories from Tania del Rio.

Following are Archie's descriptions of stories in the trade:

* "Spellfreeze" (issue #58): When fellow witch Shinji does a charm school project on mortals living without magic, he ends up an exchange student at Sabrina's high school. Thus the Sabrina, Harvey, Shinji love triangle is born! Further complicating matters, Sabrina uses the forbidden "Spellfreeze" in the mortal world!

* "Blue Ribbon Blues" (issue #59): It's time for the annual tradition of high school basketball players giving ribbons to the girls they want to cheer for them. Sabrina gets a ribbon from Harvey of course, an act that leaves several jealousies in its wake! All this, plus Sabrina makes her own broom in charm school!

* "Councils & Concerts" (issue #60): Shinji decides he better make a move before Sabrina gets too serious with Harvey, so he asks Sabrina out on their first official date! However the council... especially the queen...has other ideas, brought on by Sabrina's misuse of "Spellfreeze" a few issues earlier!

* "The Magic Within" (issue #61): Conveniently "forgotten" invitations to Amy's Halloween party as well as Amy talking up her witch friend Gwen, leaves Sabrina feeling disconcerted. Luckily, Harvey invites Sabrina to the party as his date, but Sabrina still must contend with Gwen's authenticity, not to mention Shinji's mysterious date!

Sabrina the Teenage Witch: The Magic Revisited will cost $7.49.

STAR WARS LITHOGRAPHS

Dynamic Forces on Tuesday annoounced the first in a series of limited-edition lithographs featuring art from the Star Wars universe.

"My love of all things Star Wars runs as deep as my love of comics," said DF President Nick Barrucci. "To work with Lucasfilm and all of these great artists on our Star Wars lithograph line is truly a dream come true."

The first piece is by the Brothers Hildebrandt from the marketing of the first movie in 1977. The art is the initial painting of the "comic" version of the Star Wars theatrical poster from 1977.

After it was done on a rush basis -- Greg and the late Tim Hildebrandt turned it around in just 36 hours -- the twins dropped it off at a New York agency, but were told that Lucasfilm wanted the addition of R2-D2 and C-3PO. But the poster deadline was that day. The brothers left the agency, found the closest art store, picked up paint and brushes, returned and painted in the droids.

The lithograph features the original version, without the droids. The 18" by 24" will cost $49.99.

Future lithographs will feature the work of Ken Kelly and Dave Dorman.
