FIRST LOOK: MARVEL WESTERNS: STRANGE WESTERNS

Marvel Westerns: Strange Westerns will arrive in stores on August 16 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Steve Englehart and Joe R. Lansdale, with art by Marshall Rogers and Rafa Garres and a cover by Rogers and Eric Powell.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Reuniting Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers as the famed writer/artist team tell an all-new tale of Marvel's dark Western avenger, The Black Rider. When a mystery brings mild-mannered Doc Masters to New York City, rooftops and dangerous allies lead his dark alter ego to answers that will shock him to his very soul. Plus: A dark and devilish 8-page tale featuring a cursed weapon and the man known as Gunhawk in "Midnight Gun" by Joe R. Lansdale and Rafa Garres. Also: Re-presenting two classic Jack Kirby Rawhide Kid tales, 'The Bat Strikes' and 'The Bullet Proof Man.'"

FIRST LOOK: MYSTERY IN SPACE #1

Mystery in Space #1 will arrive in stores on Sept. 6 from DC Comics. The issue is written by Jim Starlin, with art by Shane Davis, Matt "Batt" Banning, Starlin and Al Milgorm, a cover by Davis and a variant cover by Neal Adams.

Here's how DC describes the book:

"The DCU launches an 8-issue foray into the most spectacular regions of the galaxy! Who is the new Captain Comet? What is his connection to his predecessor? And what fate has befallen the original Captain Comet during the cosmos-shattering events of 52?
