* Sony has started Culver Entertainment, a company focused on developing content for DVD distribution. The first project under the Culver Entertainment banner will be a new animated Spider-Man series, sources have confirmed for The Continuum.
* Warner Bros. has announced that The Fountain, starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz and written/directed by Darren Aronofsky, has been moved from Oct. 13 to Nov. 22.
"We are so proud of The Fountain and opening on the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving will give more people a chance to see what we think is Darren's finest work," said Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution for Warner Bros. "The extra month will also allow time to build a bigger long-lead campaign and generate greater word-of-mouth in the weeks leading up to the opening."
