DC news -- and much more!!!

The CW has begun airing a 30-second spot promoting the sixth season of Smallville, which includes the first look at Justin Hartley as Green Arrow.

The trailer features scenes from the sixth-season opener, "Zod." At one point, Lex Luthor, apparently possessed, flies down to Clark and says, "Kneel before Zod."

The spot also shows Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen as Chloe introduces Clark to him.

"Whoa, they grow them big in Kansas, don't they?" Olsen says.

James McAvoy has landed the starring role in Wanted, a live-action film adaptation of the Top Cow comic-book series by Mark Millar and J.G.Jones.

"We are very excited to land such a talented young actor for our main lead," producer Jason Netter told The Continuum. "He is perfect for the role, and I think we are getting him right at the time he is about to become a household name. He should help make Wanted the franchise we feel it should become."

McAvoy, 27, starred in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and has several upcoming movies. His previous film credits include Rory O'Shea Was Here and Wimbledon.

The film, set up at Universal Pictures, will be directed by Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov.

Marc Platt, Jim Lemley and Netter will produce, with Top Cow's Marc Silvestri as an executive producer.

Wanted was first optioned in 2004.
