The Continuum has obtained a first look at the menus from The Tick vs. Season One DVD, which will be released by Buena Vista Home Entertainment on August 29.

The two-disc set will collect 12 episodes from the animated series, which originally aired on Fox Kids and was based on Ben Edlund's comic-book character.

It marks the first time any Tick animated episodes have been on DVD.

The set will feature The Tick and his sidekick Arthur; allies American Maid, Sewer Urchin, Die Fledermaus, Caped Chameleon and the Civic-Minded Five; and villains The Idea Man, The Breadmaster, El Seed and The Uncommon Cold.

Townsend Coleman voiced The Tick and Mickey Dolenz voiced Arthur.

Mark Bagley has announced he is departing as artist of Marvel Comics' Ultimate Spider-Man, but writer Brian Michael Bendis said he has no intentions to leave the book.

"It's an amazing job, and I'm not leaving," Bendis said during a Marvel press conference on Thursday in conjunction with Ultimate Spider-Man's upcoming 100th issue. "They'll pry it from my cold, dead hands."

Although Bagley will still be around for nearly a year, Bendis indicated that his replacement has already been chosen in discussing his plans for the title.

"When we announce who the artist is, it's definitely not an attempt to imitate Mark. That would be insulting to Mark," Bendis said. "We've found someone who can do the workload and do it well."

Bendis would not elaborate on who the artist is.

* Heroic Publishing has announced that, beginning with Flare Adventures #19, tentatively scheduled for February, the quarterly title will be increasing to 52 pages.

In addition to classic Flare tales, there will be new stories featuring Commander Fantastic and the All-Girl Hero League, Chrissie Claus, Raven Gold and the Flying Ravens, Naomi Battle Squirrel and Black Enchantres.

* Citing his schedule, Civil War artist Steve McNiven has shortened his appearance at the Candian National Comic Book Expo in Toronto next weekend to one day from three.

"Not wanting to disappoint all the great fans who have been so supportive of me and the wonderful folks at Hobby Star, I've managed to come up with a compromise that I can live with and that has the complete support of my family and Marvel," McNiven said through a release from Hobby Star.

"While unfortunate, I will be flying in and out of Toronto and will only be able to sign for one day. I'm sorry for this inconvenience, but I feel that his is truly the only compromise I could make while not disturbing my current working pace on Civil War. I'll be signing on Saturday starting at 11:30 and finishing , well, when the last book is signed."
