DC news -- and much more!!!

HELLBOY ANIMATED UPDATE

Voice actor veteran Jim Cummings is providing the voice of Tom Manning in the second Hellboy animated movie, supervising producer/director Tad Stones said Sunday at the Canadian Fan Expo in Toronto.

"I worked with him since Darkwing Duck and since Rescue Rangers," Stones said during a panel devoted the translating Hellboy to film. "And he came in, a big Hellboy fan, and just nailed it."

Cummings has scores of voice credits. In the comics-to-film world, his credits include Master of Games in Teen Titans, Temblor in The Batman, Man-Spider and Shocker in Spider-Man and the Absorbing Man in The Incredible Hulk.

Manning, the director of the B.P.R.D., is the role made popular by Jeffrey Tambor in the Hellboy movie.

"That was one character we wanted to keep close to the movie, because he brought a lot to that character in the movie," Stones said.

The second movie, called Hellboy: Blood and Iron, will debut on Cartoon Network in February, Stones said, and will be released on DVD in May.

The first animated film, Sword of Storms, will air on Cartoon Network on Oct. 28 and be released on DVD on Feb. 6.
