HEROES' "DON'T LOOK BACK"

NBC has released a description for "Don't Look Back," the Monday, Oct. 2 episode of Heroes.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Outside a bizarre, gruesome crime scene, Los Angeles beat cop Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) is the only one who can hear the cries of a missing little girl. Claire (Hayden Panettiere) almost reveals her secret ability to the entire school after learning that her injury attempt tape has disappeared. Thinking she's going crazy, Niki (Ali Larter) loses another block of time after waking to find some brutally murdered thugs in her garage, only to be confronted by Social Services about son Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey). While office drone Hiro (Masi Oka) investigates New York, Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) confronts Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) following his plunge off a building."

Sendhil Ramamurthy, Santiago Cabrera and Tawny Cypress also star.

SUPERGIRL TO FEATURE TERRA

The Last Daughter of Krypton meets the all-new Terra in Supergirl #12.

This issue will feature a different story than the one described in the September Previews. The issue now will be written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, with art by Amanda Conner.

"Justin and I are really excited about showing what we can do with Supergirl, and equally excited about introducing the new Terra into the DCU," Palmiotti said. "With Amanda on board for the art, we couldn't ask for a more fun book to premiere her in."

"Supergirl rocks! Amanda Rocks! Terra...throws rocks! It is a perfect combination," Gray said.

Here's how DC describes the issue:

"The story finds the Girl of Steel down in the dumps ‹ and no match for a monster thatıs using her emotions as a weapon. This looks like a job for a Terra, a mysterious new hero whose very steps make the ground tremble to make her presence known to the world. This issue will serve as a lead-in to the upcoming Terra mini-series."

Supergirl #12 will be in stores on Nov. 1.

TOP COW'S PHOENIX VARIANT

Top Cow Productions has announced that X-Men: Phoenix -- Warsong #1 will be the first in a series of variant covers of Marvel Comics issues.

The variants are part of Top Cow's partnership with Marvel, which includes such crossovers as Darkness/Wolverine and Cyberforce/X-Men and Top Cow artists working on Marvel projects.

Top Cow's Tyler Kirkham is drawing the Warsong mini-series, written by Greg Pak. He is also providing the cover for the variant, which will be available exclusively through Top Cow's online store.

"The recent crossover opportunity with Marvel Comics has been an absolutely fantastic opportunity for our talented creators to dip their toes in the Marvel Universe pool and they haven't disappointed yet," said Filip Sablik, vice president of marketing and sales at Top Cow.

"Tyler has been growing by leaps and bounds as an artist and this cover for Phoenix: Warsong is a gorgeous example of that."
