MARVEL COMICS FIRST LOOKS

HEROES RATINGS

NBC continues to trumpet strong ratings for Heroes, which has helped the network gain 18 percent in viewers 18-49 on Monday nights.

Heroes' debut episode on Sept. 26 was No. 6 for the week among all shows in 18-49.

As previously reported, the debut episode delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating and overall viewer total for any fall drama premiere in five years. It was also the highest-rated 9 p.m. (ET) drama premiere on any network since the launch of ABC's Desperate Housewives on Oct. 3, 2004.

VARIANT COVERS FOR VIRGIN'S SEVEN BROTHERS

Virgin Comics on Wednesday announced that there will be alternate covers for the first five issues of John Woo's Seven Brothers, written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Jeevan Kang.

"The response to Seven Brothers has been incredible," said Virgin Comics CEO Sharad Devarajan. "When two creative titans like John Woo and Garth Ennis are working together it is always a special event."

Seven Brothers #1 reaches stores on Oct. 18. The issue features covers by Yoshitaka Amano and Greg Horn.

Amano will provide a cover for every issue, while different artists will provide the alternate covers.

IMAGE COMICS FIRST LOOKS

The Continuum has updated its Image Comics First Looks for titles arriving in stores on Oct. 11.

Titles include Emissary #5, The Pirates of Coney Island #1, Umbra #3 and Sam Noir: Samurai Detective #2.



BRIEFLY

* Donal Logue, who plays Mack in the Ghost Rider movie, will be a guest on CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman on Friday, Oct. 13.

* Chris Ryall and Simon Furman are writing a four-issue mini-series that will serves as a prequel to next summer's Transformers movie. IDW Publishing is targeting it for a February launch.

IDW will also adapt the movie.

* Arcana Studio has announced that Sean OšReilly's Kade: Sun of Perdition #1 is going back for a second printing. For the new printing, Ben Templesmith's variant cover, which was only offered as a retailer incentive, will get a new color scheme.

Future incentive covers for the series will showcase artwork from Liam Sharp, Nat Jones, and Ashley Wood.
