FLARE ADVENTURES LINEUP

Flare Adventures #19, on sale Feb. 28

The issue will sport a pair of alternate covers, Flare by Liberty Girl's Mark Sparacio and Chrissie Claus by the savage She-Dragon's Franchseco. The four stories start with Flare in the classic "Genesis: The Gladiatrix," by Lou Mougin and Mark Morales, a story that was originally published more than a decade ago, but which actually takes place today. Then the awesomely talented Franchesco warms up for a yet-to-be-announced future project by teaming up with writer/creator Dennis Mallonee for "Into the Black Forest," an new adventure of Santa's little elfin granddaughter, Chrissie Claus. Also in the issue, Commander Fantastic meets the All-Girl Hero League in the new first chapter of a 12-part adventure by Wilson Hill and Ruben Montecinos. And finally, it's a new Flare adventure by Jim Gettman and Howard Simpson when the glittering goddess of the light finds her recruited by Naomi Battle Squirrel, the finest swordsquirrel in all the realm of Furest, to defend the One Tree.

Flare Adventures #20, on sale May 30

* Includes a Frank Brunner cover and five features. Flare's adventures in Olympus resume in "The Night Eternal," by Dennis Mallonee and Mark Propst. Then Commander Fantastic and the All-Girl Hero League get ready to take on Mister Diablo and his band of villains in the new second chapter of a 12-part adventure by Wilson Hill and Ruben Montecinos. Get ready for the unexpected in the new "Birth of Raven Gold," by Wilson Hill, J. Adam Walters, and Daniel Lauer, featuring the origin of the little sneak thief, with guest appearances by Flare, Lady Arcane, and the fabulous Flying Fox. Naomi Battle Squirrel is featured in a new adventure of her own, by Jim Gettman and Howard Simpson. And a new Flare Sunday Page by her regular creative team of Wilson Hill and Gordon Purcell.

Flare Adventures #21, on sale August 29

Brunner again provides the cover for the classic tale by Dennis Mallonee and Mark Propst as Flare and Pan seek out "The Wisdom of Aphrodite" to help them deal with the threat of the night-goddess Nyx. Also, the origin of Raven Gold concludes with the new adventure, "The Birth of Raven Gold," by Wilson Hill, J. Adam Walters, and Daniel Lauer. The savage original Tigress is back in the classic "Return of the Tigress," by Dennis Mallonee, Paul Abrams and John Tighe. And Naomi Battle Squirrel is back for another new tale by Jim Gettman and Howard Simpson.

Flare Adventures #22, on sale Oct. 24

* With yet another Frank Brunner cover, the issue features the conclusion to the Flare in Olympus storyline, "The Battle Between Night and Day," by Dennis Mallonee and Mark Propst. Also, the Black Enchantress and Lady Arcane are featured in the classic "All the Best Magic," by Dennis Mallonee, Howard Simpson, and Willie Blyberg. Then Mike W. Barr comes on board, teaming up with J. Adam Walters for the first in a new series of adventures of Raven Gold and the Flying Ravens. And there'll be another new Flare Sunday Page, too, by Wilson Hill and Gordon Purcell.

Flare Adventures #23, on sale Dec. 19

Featuring a cover by Paul Abrams, and "The Revenge of the Tigress," by Mallonee, Abrams, and Tighe. There'll also be new adventures of Raven Gold and the Flying Ravens by Barr and Walters, Naomi Battle Squirrel by Gettman and Simpson, and, as a bonus treat, a new Black Enchantress adventure by Wilson Hill and J. Adam Walters that sends the naughty little silver-haired sorceress to Olympus to deal with the aftermath of Flare's great battle with the night-goddess Nyx.
