DC news -- and much more!!!

BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD TALKS SPIDER-MAN 3

Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3, said she was "totally fanatical" about being part of the film.

"When I had the opportunity to audition, it was a true honor," she said. "It was amazing working on this film."

Director Sam Raimi noted that Howard read Spider-Man comic books to get ready for the role.

"What's so great for me, and for a lot of my friends and a lot of kids today, is that they love this franchise so much. And then that brings them to the comic books," Howard said. "And that was honestly my experience."

"She's great in the picture," Raimi said. "She really creates a great dynamic that we haven't seen before and she's a breath of fresh air. And I really love her performance."

The new trailer for Spider-Man 3 will air on MTV's The Duel on Thursday.

BLACK MASK ON THE BATMAN

Batman villain Black Mask makes his animated debut in "Breakout," Saturday's new episode of The Batman on Kids' WB!.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"When notorious crime boss Black Mask is captured, his organization works to break him of out jail. But when Batman is sidelined, Batgirl and Robin must prove they can be heroes on their own and stop Black Mask."

James Remar is providing the voice of Black Mask. Remar has worked with Warner Bros. Animation before, most recently as Hawkman in Justice League Unlimited.

Remar, 53, is currently appearing in Showtime's Dexter and CBS' Jericho. He also appeared in Blade: Trinity as Ray Cumberland.
