FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER'S CHRIS EVANS

Chris Evans, who returns as Johnny Storm/Human Torch in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, appeared on MTV's TRL on Monday. Appearing via webcam in Vancouver, Evans answered questions from the audience about the film.

Following is an edited rundown:

Question: What's going down on the set of Fantastic Four 2 today?

Evans: Actually, nothing. Today, we have our day. We have Sunday-Monday off. I dragged myself out of bed just to talk to you guys.

Question: In your last movie, you were going up against Doctor Doom. What are your new challenges? Is Doctor Doom back?

Evans: Yeah, Doctor Doom is back, which is great. If you guys have ever had Julian (McMahon) on your show, you know he's the life of the party, so it's nice to have him on set.

I don't want to give too much away, but he's much stronger. It's good to have him back.

Question: I've heard a lot of hype about this guy named Silver Surfer. What is he and why is he so cool?

Evans: That's right, he is very cool. Again, I can't give too much away. We get strict instructions as to what we can and can't say.

I don't want to say if he's a good guy or a bad guy, but the special effects are going to be amazing. They've got the same guy that did King Kong, that did Lord of the Rings. I've seen a couple of test clips of what he's going to look like, and it's going to be amazing.

Question: You're co-starring with TRL's own Vanessa Minnillo. She plays a love interest. How's that working out?

Evans: Yeah, it's great. When I heard she was going to do it...I've been friends with her for a couple of years, and it's always nice to know you're going to work with people you know.

She was really good the day we worked together. I was sticking my foot in my mouth left and right, but she nailed her stuff. In two takes, we were outta there.

Question: Is there a kiss?

Evans: I kept lobbying for one. Maybe in the next one.
