MIKE ALLRED TALKS MADMAN AT IMAGE

As seen in the Image Comics' solicitations for February above, Mike Allred is bringing Madman to Image Comics.

First up is Madman Gargantua, an 852-page hardcover collection of all the stories from Madman, Madman Adventures and Madman Comics.

"From the first page I drew, I knew Madman was exactly what I wanted to do in comics," Allred said. "I'm proud to be working with Image -- the only company that really gets what creator freedom is all about -- to bring Frank's stories back in the way I've always wanted to show them!²

Following in April is the new monthly series Madman Atomics Comics.

"Artistically, this is my best work ever," Allred said. "The first storyline is called 'Jumping Silent Cars That Sleep At Traffic Lights,' and it will turn the Madman world upside down. It's designed so that new readers can jump on, but buckle up, because it's gonna be a strange and scary rollercoaster ride!"

"Image has always been the company designed by creators, for creators, and we're honored to welcome Mike aboard!" said Image executive director Eric Stephenson. "He's always had a great vision for his comics, and we're excited to be the ones to bring his vision out to the world."

SMALLVILLE: "SUBTERRANEAN"

The CW has released a description of "Subterranean," the new episode of Smallville scheduled to air on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Here's how the episode describes the episode:

"Clark (Tom Welling) is shocked to discover his neighbor Jed McNally (guest star John Novak) is holding migrant laborers captive and forcing them to work on his farm. Feeling guilty since he sees himself as the ultimate illegal immigrant, Clark seeks help from Martha (Annette O'Toole) to allow a young boy (guest star Tyler Posey) and his mother (Maria Dimou) to stay in the country."

Caroline Dries wrote the episode, which was directed by Rick Rosenthal.

DAVID WOHL TO WRITE SE7VEN: PRIDE

David Wohl, co-creator of Witchblade and The Darkness, has signed on to script Pride, the fifth installment in the Se7en series from Zenescope Entertainment and New Line Cinema.

The Se7en series features the origin of John Doe.

"Few films have impacted the mental landscape of the movie going public quite like Se7en," Wohl said. "David Fincher's bleak masterpiece spawned dozens of imitators but none can match the original. I'm thankful that Zenescope has chosen me to write this issue."

The second installment of Se7en, Greed, reaches store shelves in early December. The first issue, Gluttony, sold through its initial Diamond orders in a day.
