COMING MONDAY

Interviews and panel coverage from Mid-Ohio-Con -- and much more!!!

MID-OHIO-CON: YANICK PAQUETTE

There's turning out to be quite a bit of 'X' so far in Yanick Paquette's exclusive contract with Marvel Comics.

Following his run on the four-issue Civil War: X-Men series, Paquette is now drawing in the Ultimate Universe -- but staying with the X-Men.

With artist Ben Oliver having a baby, Paquette chipped in on Ultimate X-Men #77 and he will be drawing a two-issue story -- and covers -- for Ultimate X-Men #79 and #80.

The Continuum caught up with the Canadian artist at Mid-Ohio-Con for a short interview. To read the story, CLICK HERE.

MID-OHIO-CON: SEAN MCKEEVER

Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane writer Sean McKeever told The Continuum that David Hahn, formerly of DC Comics' Bite Club, is the new artist of the Marvel title.

Hahn's first issue will be #16 in March, McKeever told The Continuum. Hahn replaces Takeshi Miyazawa, who will continue to provide covers from Japan.

An official announcement from Marvel Comics, along with a preview of Hahn's art, is expected this week, McKeever said.

"It was a real blow to see Takeshi go," McKeever said. "But I think we've found just the guy. His style's not like Takeshi, but he brings a lot of similar things to the table. He's really good with emotions."

McKeever said "some major stuff" will be happening in the title, with a shift in focus in the series that will coincide with Hahn's arrival.

"I'll be bringing in some characters from the Spider-Man mythos," McKeever said. "I'm bringing Firestar back and a familiar former love interest of Spider-Man will be showing up."

McKeever said a hardcover collection of the first two Mary Jane mini-series and the first five issues of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane should arrive in stores as early as March.

Show at the right is the cover to Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane #15, due in February.

McKeever is also writing the lead story in the first two issues of Marvel's bi-monthly Spider-Man Family title.

His first story is with a black-suited Spider-Man and involves Sandman. The second story will involve Venom and is set during the Todd McFarlane/Erik Larsen era.

McKeever said he will also be writing a third story for Spider-Man Family. He has future work with Marvel lined up, but McKeever said an announcement about that will happen at the New York Comic-Con in February.
