GHOST RIDER PRESS EVENT

Sony/Columbia Pictures has released 10 images from the Ghost Rider press event at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery Thursday night.

The photos show the press watching the several scenes introduced by writer/director Mark Steven Johnson, stars Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes and the motorcycles from the film that were on display.

The scenes included the transformation of Nicolas Cage's Johnny Blaze into the Ghost Rider; a discussion where Johnny tries to explain to a non-believing Roxanne (Eva Mendes) what has happened to him; the two Ghost Riders (one on a horse) riding through the desert; the action scene that was shown at Wizard World Texas; and a lengthy trailer.

After the presentation, Johnson, Mendes and Cage sat down with the online genre press for roundtable interviews. Look for interviews with the stars and director very soon here in The Continuum.

SMALLVILLE ROUNDUP

The Continuum spent several hours on the set of Smallville in suburban Vancouver on Friday during the filming of the episode titled "Crimson."

Look for details on the set visit, including interviews with cast members, soon here in The Continuum.

In other Smallville news:

* As the title indicates, "Crimson" will involve Red Kryptonite. The episode will likely air in February.

Filming of "Crimson" will go into next week before the Smallville production takes a break for the holidays.

* The Thursday, Dec. 21 episode will be a repeat of "Reunion."

* The second episode directed by star Tom Welling will be "Hydro."

"Tom is an excellent director," Annette O'Toole, who plays Martha, told The Continuum. "He's picked up so much very quickly and you can see him doing more of that in the future."

* "Justice," which features the return of Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg, is a highly guarded episode. Look for the characters to be wearing some kind of costumes.

* Future episodes will include the tentatively titled "Trespass" and "Freak."
