MIKE CAREY WRITES VIRGIN'S ENIGMAVirging Comics announced on Thursday that Mike Carey will write Enigma, a series created by Oscar actor Nicolas Cage and his son Wes for Virgin.
"I'm really excited to be on the book, and to be writing the first arc - in at the ground floor, so to speak," Carey said. "It's an incredibly strong premise built around a unique and compelling character, and it resonates with me on a lot of levels.
"Plus it's going to be a blast riffing creatively with Nicolas and Wes Cage and the amazing stable of talent that Virgin has put together."
Here's how Virgin describes the book:
"Conceived by the comic book-loving father-son Cage duo, Enigma is a Voodoo-laced thriller that begins with a fiery rebellion on a Southern plantation during the Confederacy. The story moves quickly to the post-Katrina mean streets of New Orleans, where a veteran detective is trying to solve a series of murders connected by mysterious historical circumstances."
