CIVIL WAR #7 DELAYED, EXPANDED

Marvel Comics on Tuesday announced that Civil War #7, the final issue of the series by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, has been delayed again, this time to a Feb. 21 release.

"Civil War #7 has topped out at 28 pages of story content -- six more than a normal comic," said editor Tom Brevoort. "As such, we need to block in a little bit more time to make sure that Steve can get it done -- especially since these are some of the most difficult pages in the entire series to draw from a number-of-characters-on-the-page perspective."

Marvel also announced an epilogue issue, Civil War: The Confession, by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"Two of the Marvel heroes most affected by the shocking conclusion of the war get together one last time. What is said between them will set the course of the Marvel Universe for years to come. This is the confession."

Here's a rundown of the upcoming Civil War-related books:

Jan. 17: Fantastic Four #542.

Jan. 24: Civil War: The Return, Moon Knight #7, Punisher War Journal #3.

Jan. 31: Black Panther #24.

Feb. 14: Civil War: Black Panther War Crimes, Civil War: Casualties of War one-shots (Iron Man/Captain America, War Crimes, Winter Soldier)

Feb. 21: Amazing Spider-Man #538, Civil War #7, Civil War Poster Book, Fantastic Four #543, Moon Knight #8.

Feb. 28: Black Panther #25, Civil War: Front Line #11, Civil War: The Initiative.

March 7: Captain America #24, Civil War: Battle Damage Report, Marvel Spolight: Civil War Aftermath.

March 14: Civil War: The Confession.

March 21: Moon Knight #9.

SMALLVILLE: "LABYRINTH"

The CW has released 10 images, including the first of Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter, from "Labyrinth," the Thursday, Jan. 25 episode of Smallville.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Clark (Tom Welling) is attacked and wakes up in a mental asylum where the attending physician, Dr. Hudson (guest star), tells him he has been there for five years due to his elaborate fantasy that he has alien superpowers. In this new world, Martha (Annette O'Toole) is married to Lionel Luthor (John Glover), Chloe (Allison Mack) is deemed insane and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) chose Clark over Lex (Michael Rosenbaum).

"Lana begs Clark to agree to Dr. Hudson's treatments so they can be together, but when a fellow patient named John, aka Martian Manhunter (guest star Phil Morris), tells him the good doctor is actually a phantom and he needs to kill him in order to return to reality, Clark must make the toughest decision of his life."

The episode was written by Al Septien and Turi Meyer and directed by Whitney Ransick.

TANK GIRL AT IDW PUBLISHING

IDW Publishing announced on Tuesday that Ashley Wood will be working on a new Tank Girl mini-series starting in May.

Wood will team with Tank Girl co-creator/writer Alan Martin on a four-part adventure, Tank Girl: The Gifting.

The Gifting will feature a series of non-linear stories, with such titles as "The Dogsh*t in Barney¹s Handbag," "Kill Jumbo," and "The Innocent Die First."

"We went to the comics graveyard and dug her up," said Martin, who also has a Tank Girl novel in the works. "She's smelling pretty bad, but we're gonna put her in a wheelbarrow and parade her around for all to see, anyway."

Tank Girl first appeared in 1988, and was the subject of a 1995 film starring Lori Petty.
