MARVEL COMICS FIRST LOOKS

FIRST LOOK: GHOST RIDER: TRAIL OF TEARS #1

Ghost Rider: Trail of Tears #1 will arrive in stores on Feb. 7 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Garth Ennis, with art and cover by Clayton Crain.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Writer Garth Ennis and artist Clayton Crain pair up again. The duo goes back to the past, to the immediate aftermath of the United States Civil War, as they bring you the prequel to 2005šs smash hit Ghost Rider: Road to Damnation!

"Travis Parham was a soldier, injured while serving his country, but now, a family of former slaves is caring for him. After recuperating in their home, Parham goes west, finds himself a plot of land, and settles down. But when Parham returns to visit the family, he finds them murdered.

"Determined to get revenge, he hunts down the men responsible, one by one, but it seems he is always too late. Someone or something is cutting down the murderers before Parham can reach them. Who is this mysterious spirit of vengeance and what does he seek?"

Ghost Rider: Trail of Tears #1 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

FIRST LOOK: XIII TPB

XIII TPB will arrive in stores on Jan. 31 from Marvel Comics. The book is written by William Vance and adapted by Ben Avery, with art and cover by Jean Van hamme.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"In 1984, a graphic novel by the name of XIII was released to a French-reading audience. Written by Jean van Hamme and illustrated by William Vance with a story similar to Robert Ludlumšs The Bourne Identity, XIII soon established itself as a fantastic adventure full of twists and turns as readers followed the travels of a man who had no memory of who he was or what he had done. XIII has since become one of Europešs most popular comics, selling over 16 million copies and enjoying a regular print run of around 550,000 copies per book with additional printings in 15 different languages. Yet despite XIIIšs massive popularity, the series has never been fully translated into English for an American audience... until now."

XIII TPB will be 144 pages and will cost $14.99.
