NEW YORK COMIC CON: MARVEL'S CUP O' JOE PANEL

NEW YORK -- Marvel Comics unrolled its final announcements at the New York Comic Con at the Cup o' Joe panel on Saturday.

Following are highlights:

* Daredevil: End of Days is by Brian Michael Bendis, David Mack, Klaus Janson, Bill Sienkiewicz and Alex Maleev. "How does it all end?" editor-in-chief Joe Quesada said.

* Artist Arthur Suydam is now exclusive to Marvel.

* Marvel is continuing its cosmic Annihilation series with another event, Annihilation: Conquest. Like the previous event, Conquest will have a prologue, three individual mini-series launching in July and then a concluding mini-series.

Annihilation: Conquest -- Prologue launches the event in June. It is written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, with art by Brian Denham and a cover by Aleksi Briclot, one of several gaming artists that editor Bill Rosemann recruited for the event.

Annihilation: Conquest -- Quasar is written by Christos Gage, with art by Eric Basaldua and Rick Basaldua and covers by Matt Wilson.

"Quasar and Moondragon are on a very important quest," Gage said. "The goal is something important to the whole Conquest event."

Annihilation: Conquest -- Starlord is written by Keith Giffen, with art by Timothy Green II and covers by Nic Klein.

Rosemann likened it to "Sgt. Fury and the Howlin' Commandoes in Space." Featured will be Starlord, Groot, Captain Universe, Deathcry, Mantis, Micronauts' Bug and Rocket Raccoon.

Annihilaton Conquest -- Wraith features a new character in a mini-series written by Javier Grillo-Marxuach, with art by Kyle Hotz and covers by Clint Langley. Rosemann said the character is dark, a contract to Marvel's many shiny cosmic heroes.

Annihilation: Conquest will run from November to April 2008. Abnett and Lanning return to write, with art by Tom Raney and covers by Briclot.

Four issues of Nova will also be linked to Conquest.

* Orson Scott Card wil have a new Ender's Game story, "The Gold Bug," appearing exclusively in the Red Prophet hardcover in July.

* Cover artist Marko Djurdjevic is now exclusive to Marvel and Quesada said he hopes to get him to work on interiors soon. "We're going to ween him on some short stories first," Quesada said.

* Another event is Mystic Arcana, focusing on the magic elements of the Marvel Universe. C.B. Cebulski said there will be two handbooks, a series of four one-shots and a book of Tarot cards at the end.

The one-shots will feature Magik by Louise Simonson and Steve Scott; Black Knight, written by Roy Thomas; Scarlet Witch, by Jeff Parker and Juan Santacruz; and Sister Grimm, featuring the Runaways' Nico Munro, written by Cebulski.

* New Avengers/Transformers is scheduled for July 5, to coincide with the Transformers movies. As previously reported, it is written by Stuart Moore, with art by Tyler Kirkham. The four-issue mini-series' covers will include those by Jimmy Cheung and Tom Raney.

* Publisher Dan Buckley announced that Marvel will be collecting the Hero Initiative covers for Ultimate Spider-Man #100 into a book.

* Marvel's ongoing Halo series will be by Bendis and Maleev.

* Quesada said that he's found an editor who is going to make Marvel Apes happen.

* Rosemann said he's looking for the right story to feature Adam Warlock. "We want to do a lot of sci-fi," he said.

* Buckley indicated that a return to the Ultraverse is not going to happen.

* Quesada said you haven't seen the last of Hawkeye.

* Buckley said Joe Madureira is finishing the second issue of Ultimates 3, but there's no scheduled launch date yet.
