Veteran comics and television writer J.M. DeMatteis told The Continuum he's working on his second script for the second season of Kids' WB!'s Legion of Super Heroes.

"There's a lot going on in this one," DeMatteis told The Continuum at last weekend's Wonder Con. "Chameleon Boy's a main character in the story."

DeMatteis' first script centered on Timber Wolf.

In other Legion Season 2 news, look for Matter-Eater Lad, Ron-Karr, Tyr, Mano, Esper, Emerald Empress and Persuader to appear early in the season.

The National Hockey League and Warner Bros. Pictures have teamed on an integrated marketing campaign to promote the studio's 300.

The NHL and its Member Clubs will support the release of 300, which is set to open in theaters nationwide on Friday, with a TV spot, co-branded merchandise, on-line promotions and player appearances, all as part of the NHLıs "Quest for the Cup" initiative.

The 30-second TV promo features NHL game action and mixes dramatic shots of NHL players and the Stanley Cup with battle scenes and dialogue from the film. The spot, which was produced by NHL Productions, will air during NHL game broadcasts on NBC, Vs., TSN and local affiliates. The promo also will appear on and in-arena during NHL games in select NHL markets.

In addition, NHL clubs will offer its fans various giveaways, including t-shirts featuring the Quest for the Cup and 300 logos and passes to screenings of the film.

"This promotion is just another step in the NHL's overall efforts to integrate the NHL brand into the entertainment landscape," said Ed Horne, president, NHL Enterprises.

"Hockey is a non-stop, action-packed sport, making the NHL a perfect promotional partner for our film 300, which has all the action hockey fans could want," said Dawn Taubin, president, domestic marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures. "This is a very exciting facet of our marketing campaign that puts this innovative new film in a whole new arena."

In what it is calling the best jumping-on point since the first issue, Image Comics will be releasing a specially priced issue of Invincible on April 25.

Invincible #42 will be a 24-page book in the "Image Slimline" format and will cost $1.99.

Written by Robert Kirkman and featuring art by Ryan Ottley and colorist Bill Crabtree, Invincible #42 starts fresh after the devastating events of the Mars storyline concluding in issue #41.

"Mark has just saved the world, and it's not the first time, but everyone saw it happen," Kirkman said. "We're going to really start exploring Invincible's standing with the public starting with issue #42. Things are going to be a bit different from now on, and it's an excellent time for anyone who's been on the fence to finally take the plunge and find out what Invincible is all about."

"Invincible continues to be one of our most popular titles," said Image executive director Eric Stephenson. "Sales continue to climb on both the single issues and the collections, but we still hear about people who haven't given it a chance. Invincible #42 is an excellent jumping-on point for those folks."
