300 RULES BOX OFFICE

300 put forth a powerful performance at the box office on Friday, pulling in an estimated $27.8 million.

By comparison, Ghost Rider -- which set President's Day weekend records -- had an opening day of $15.3 million.

300 had nearly four times the box office of its closest competitor, Wild Hogs, which placed second with $7.7 million. 300 opened in 3,103 theaters.

Ghost Rider placed fourth on Friday with $1.9 million, pushing its total to $99.3 million.
