Dynamite Entertainment has announced the signing of an agreement for a new comic-book series featuring the characters of Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

The new Dynamite series will feature the time traveling cyborgs from the post-apocalyptic future along with the human resistance led by John Connor. The agreement also allows for Dynamite to produce a T2 crossover series featuring The Terminators battling another group of popular mechanical icons.

"T2 is a going to be a killer addition to our roster of titles," said Dynamite's Nick Barrucci. "It's tough to find a comic reader who is not a fan of the movies, and we're putting together an all-star creative team to translate that excitement to the comics! We're speaking excitedly about the cross-over option that should happen in later 2007, but there is much more to the story than meets the eye."

The agreement allows Dynamite the use of the Terminator 2: Judgment Day story and characters, including the T-800 Terminator and T-1000 Terminator, including Sarah and John Connor.

Details of both the T2 series and the crossover will be announced soon.

Angelina Jolie is joining the cast of Wanted, Universal's live-action film based on the Top Cow comic book.

"As you would expect, we are unbelievably excited to have her come on board," Wanted producer Jason Netter told The Continuum. "This takes the movie to another level and hopefully it will become the franchise that Universal and everyone involved believes it can be."

In the action genre, Jolie has starred in two Tomb Raider films, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. She is widely rumored to be sought after for the next Sin City movie.

Production on Wanted is expected to begin in Eastern Europe under the direction of Timur Bekmambetov.

The script is by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, with a rewrite by Dean Georgaris.

At Wizard World Los Angeles over the weekend, Top Cow's Rob Levin said that even the tests for the film have been "jaw-dropping."

Top Cow's Filip Sablik announced Sunday at Wizard World Los Angeles that the first English-dubbed version of the Witchblade Anime series will be available this fall.

At a panel devoted to the series produced by Gonzo, Sablik said the first DVD set from FUNimation will likely be available in October. He said anticipates six sets in all, collecting the show's 24 episodes.

Top Cow also premiered a 10-minute, English-dubbed clip from the series, showing the futuristic Witchblade taking on a robot. Sablik noted the series is part of Top Cow's official Witchblade canon.

The clip was preceded by an introduction from FUNimation voice director Christopher Bevins, who said that the dubbing done on the clip was completed just a few days before the screening.

"It's got a great visual style," said Bevins, who is also a cast member. "It's really dark. It's really fun. It's got the whole package."

Jamie Marchi, who provided the English voice of Meg in Burst Angel, is playing Masane, the new Witchblade. Her daughter, Rihoko, is played by Carrie Savage.

Sablik said FUNimation is endeavoring to pack the DVDs with extras, which will likely include contributions from Top Cow artists. - More Product. More Exclusives.

Columbia Pictures has optioned the rights to the Green Hornet for a feature film to be produced by Neal H. Moritz and Original Film, it was announced on Tuesday by Matt Tolmach and Doug Belgrad, presidents of production for Columbia Pictures.

Columbia optioned the rights to The Green Hornet from Moritz, who acquired the rights from Green Hornet Inc.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to be developing this world renowned property with the people who brought Spider-Man to the screen," Moritz said. "I can't imagine a studio better equipped or more prepared to handle this kind of material than Sony. With the radio show, television program, comic books, and novels, there is ample source material to bring this classic crime-fighter to life."

"We have an enormous amount of passion and commitment to this character and are looking forward to developing The Green Hornet into what we hope will be an amazing new franchise for the studio," Tolmach said.

The Green Hornet made his debut on Jan. 31, 1936 on WXYZ Detroit, the creation of the station's George W. Trendle and Fran Striker, who also created the Lone Ranger. The series, which ran until 1952 on the Mutual and NBC Blue networks, followed the adventures of Britt Reid, a bored playboy whose life is changed when he inherits his father's crusading newspaper, The Daily Sentinel. He saves the life of Kato, a Japanese man with incredible technical and martial-arts skills, who becomes Britt's closest ally -- and transforms Britt's car into the supercharged Black Beauty, which gives them an edge as they search for evidence to expose the city's underworld in the newspaper. When Britt and Kato witness a brutal mob hit, Britt invents his secret identity -- taking his name from his powerful car's defective horn.

Following its run on radio, the Green Hornet ran in several comic books. In 1966, the character made the jump to the small screen for one season on the ABC television network, starring Van Williams as the Green Hornet and catapulting Bruce Lee, who played Kato, to stardom.

Claudio Sanchez, frontman for the rock band Coheed and Cambria, is writing The Armory Wars, a five-issue mini-series set to begin in June from Image Comics

"The Armory Wars is the overall title of the mythology that surrounds Coheed and Cambria," Sanchez said. "Bringing this story to life on the printed page, exactly the way I've always envisioned it, is very exciting to me."

Sanchez's Evil Ink Comics has teamed up with Image Comics and 12 Gauge Comics for the book, which chronicles the life and death of Coheed and Cambria, a young couple who discover their lives have been a lie, that memories have been imprinted on their past, and that their future is tied to a deeper -- and perhaps more sinister -- purpose within the universe.

The series is edited by David Tischman.

"This is an exciting project and I'm thrilled that 12 Gauge Comics is working with such a great group," 12 Gauge President Keven Gardner said. "Claudio is an incredibly talented creator and having someone as well-respected as David Tischman at the point assures quality at every step."

Gus Vasquez is the series' artist and covers are provided by Tony Moore.
