WORLD OF QUEST ON KIDS' WB!

World of Quest, based on the Komikwerks original graphic novel by Jason Kruse, is one of the new series announced by Kids' WB! to premiere this fall.

Kruse told The Continuum that he is "very involved" with the series.

"I'm serving as Creative Consultant, giving input on all the stories, scripts, artwork, etc.," he said. "This is my baby, after all, so I wanted to be as involved as possible and Warner's has been very accommodating on all fronts."

Here's how the network describes the show, which will be produced Cookie Jar Entertainment:

"Adventure and comedy make perfect partners when a spoiled young prince is unevenly paired with a square-jawed hero to defeat evil and restore order to their kingdom in World of Quest.

"When his parents are kidnapped by the nefarious Lord Spite, pampered Prince Nestor enlists the assistance of Quest, the planet's greatest warrior. Quest is the only hero with enough strength, skill and courage to wield the Shatter Soul Sword, which is the only weapon that can defeat Lord Spite. However, the Sword is missing -- and the prince, warrior and villain are all on a desperate mission to find it."

World of Quest becomes the fourth comics-based show that will air next season on Kids' WB!. The network previously announced new seasons for The Batman and Legion of Super Heroes to begin in the fall, and a new series, tentatively titled The Amazing Spider-Man, for early 2008.

Other new shows for the network include Eon Kid, Magi-Nation and Will & Dewitt.

DYNAMITE LANDS HAMSTERS

Dynamite Entertainment continues to expand its line, announcing on Friday it has reached an agreement with creator Don Chin to begin publishing a new comic book series, collections and collectibles featuring the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters.

The Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters, written and created by Chin, was originally illustrated by Parsonavich and later by Sam Kieth, as well as initially published by Eclipse Comics.

The series chronicled the adventures of four Hamsters named Chuck, Bruce, Jackie and Clint, who were sent into space by the United Nations in an attempt to obliterate a huge blob of radioactive space jell-o that threatened to engulf the earth, wiping out all life as we know it. The Hamsters sacrificed their lives by self-destructing their rocket ship in the heart of the gelatinous mass, which sent them hurtling back to earth to the Himalayas covered with the strange glowing goo. There they were found by a wandering Buddhist Monk who sees their arrival as an answer to ancient prophecy--so they are trained in the ways of the martial arts to one day rid the world of corruption.

Chin dreamed up the furry foursome in a biology class at Humboldt State University in Arcata, Calif., in the 1980's as a parody of the increasingly popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, but they soon took on a life of their own, selling over a half-million comics.

"I'm very excited to be entering into this relationship with Dynamite Entertainment, as they have a proven reputation for great art and stories and have shown a keen eye for turning licensed properties into hot comic book titles such as Army of Darkness, Battlestar Galactica and Red Sonja," Chin said. "I have long wanted to re-introduce the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters to a new generation of fans who might be looking for a very funny, action-packed series and to the original fans who have kept asking me when they were going to return out of hibernation."

Dynamite said details of the new series' creative team will be announced soon.
