Shrek the Third pushed Spider-Man 3 from from its No. 1 box-office spot, but did not challenge Spider-Man 3's opening weekend record.

Shrek the Third pulled in an estimated $122.0 million over the three days to end Spider-Man 3's two-week box-office reign.

Spider-Man 3's $151.2 million opening remains the record, but could be threatened by Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which is opening with 9 p.m. shows on Thursday.

Spider-Man 3 placed second over the weekend with an estimated $28.5 million, pushing its total to $281.9 million.

The film has fallen behind the pace of the original Spider-Man, which had grossed $285.2 million in the same number of days.
