BRIEFLY* The Complete Little Orphan Annie is the second series to be released under IDW Publishing's The Library of American Comics imprint, edited and designed by Dean Mullaney.
The first volume, Will Tomorrow Ever Come? by Harold Gray, is scheduled for February. It will contain more than 1,000 daily comics in nine complete stories, from the first strip in August 1924 through October 1927.
* Marvel Comics has released both covers to Ultimate Spider-Man #111, an issue that bridges the depature of Mark Bagley and the arrivial of Stuart Immonen.
The issue is on sale on July 18. Click on the thumbnails for larger images.
* Helped by the series finale of Stargate SG-1 last Friday on Sci Fi, Painkiller Jane drew its largest ratings since its premiere.
Friday's episode at 10 p.m.delivered a 1.0 households rating, 668,000 in 18-49 and 751,000 in 25-54 -- the best performances for the program in each demo since its April 13 debut.
* Marvel Comics has announced that Avengers Classic #1 has sold. The publisher has no current plans to go back to press on the issue.
