PAINKILLER JANE: "SOMETHING NASTY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD"

"Something Nasty in the Neighborhood" is this Friday's new episode of Painkiller Jane on Sci Fi Channel.

Here's how Sci Fi describes the episode:

"After a federal agent and several others mysteriously disappear from an idyllic suburban community, Jane and Connor go undercover as a happily married couple to investigate the disappearances."

In other Painkiller Jane news, the series helped Sci Fi Channel to its best second-quarter and June ratings ever.

Painkiller Jane was part of a Sci Fi Friday line-up that outperformed the same time period last year by 70 percent among Adults 18-49 and 56 percent among Adults 25-54.

* According to Variety, Transformers made an estimated $27.4 million in its first full day from 4,011 screens, the best box-office draw ever for a Tuesday. The film made $8.8 million on Monday night.

* To the right is a look at the Blu-ray and HD-DVD versions of Smallville: The Complete Sixth Season.

The collection will be released on Sept. 18 by Warner Home Video.
