SMALLVILLE'S SUPERGIRL

The CW has provided The Continuum a first look at Laura Vandervoort as Kara/Supergirl in the upcoming seventh season of Smallville.

The new season of Smallville will debut on the network on Thursday, Sept. 27.

Vandervoort was born and raised in Toronto and has a second-degree black belt. According to the network, she will catch the eye of both Jimmy Olsen and Lex Luthor.

"We cast Laura because she is the embodiment of Supergirl -- she has warmth, beauty and she can kick some serious ass," said executive producer Al Gough.
