THE SIMPSONS TOPS THE BOX OFFICE

The Simpsons Movie dominated the box office in its opening weekend.

The film, from 20th Century Fox, brought in an estimated $71.8 million to second-place I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry's $19.0 million.

Transformers placed seventh with $11.5 million, pushing its total to $284.5 million.

In The Simpsons television news:

* The comic-book store episode featuring the voices of Jack Black, Sergio Aragones and Alan Moore is targeted for November.

* Sideshow Bob will return in November as well.

* The "You Kent Always Say What You Want" episode will be repeated on Sunday, August 19.
