New projects involving Genddy Tartakovsky and Rob Liefeld were announced at Marvel Comics' Mondo Marvel panel at Wizard World Chicago on Friday.

WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO: X-MEN PANEL

Marvel Comics kicked off its Wizard World Chicago panels on Friday with an X-Men panel.

Short-staffed because of problems with flights out of New York, the panel featured editor-in-chief Joe Quesada (not talking as much as usual because of illness), staffer/writer C.B. Cebulski and artist Skottie Young.

THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN'S ELECTRO

Crispin Freeman will be providing the voice of Electro in Kids' WB!'s upcoming The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series.

Electro, who is Max Dillon, will be showcased in an early episode of the series.

Freeman is well known in anime circles, with dozens of voice credits.

During a recent panel at Comic-Con International, it was revealed that Electro will not be wearing his original costume from the comics.

* Marvel Comics has announced a second printing for World War Hulk #1 that will be in stores on Sept. 12.

* According to Variety, Warner Bros. has picked up the film rights to Oni Press' Maintenance, by Massey and Robbi Rodriguez. McG's Wonderland Sound & Vision will produce, with McG possibly directing. Joe Ballarini is adapting.

* Stardust director Matthew Vaughn has been tapped by Marvel Studios to direct a Thor movie. Production could begin as early as this winter. Vaughn at one time was on board to direct X-Men: The Last Stand before pulling out.
