SMALLVILLE: "KARA"

The CW has released five images from the "Kara" episode of Smallville.

The images show Laura Vandervoort as Supergirl, Tom Welling as Clark Kent and Erica Durance as Lois Lane.

"Kara" is the seventh season's second episode, following the season-opening "Bizarro." Although the network hasn't announced an air date for the episode, it is expected to air on Thursday, Oct. 4.

Smallville's version of Kara was born on Krypton and is the daughter of Zor-El, Jor-El's brother. Kara possesses all of Clark's powers and can fly.

"She's really going to be a hand grenade this season, and I mean that in a really good way," said Smallville executive producer Al Gough.

"It's been a whirlwind. It's been a lot of fun," Vandervoort said.
