Image Comics news -- and much more!!!

NBC has released nine images from "Lizards," Monday's new episode of Heroes.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"With one person dead, Matt (Greg Grunberg) enlists some unlikely help as the attacks continue on people with abilities. Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) efforts to hide her healing abilities at her new California high school are jeopardized by a fellow student with a secret of his own. As part of his new job, Dr. Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) must track down The Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis). While crossing into Mexico, Maya (Dania Ramirez) and Alejandro's (Shalim Ortiz) abilities prove to be a threat to those around them.

"Meanwhile, disappointed by his hero Kensei (David Anders), Hiro (Masi Oka) resolves to rectify any damage his presence in feudal Japan has done to history. And another lost Hero falls in with a gang of Irish gangsters with clues to his past."

Katee Sackhoff describes her character in Bionic Woman, Sarah Corvus, as "the dark" to Jaime Sommers' "light" in the NBC series that launches on Wednesday night.

"I play the first bionic woman and she's kind of lost her mind over the years," said Sackhoff, who also plays Starbuck in Sci Fi's Battlestar Galactica.

"The bionics have gotten to her and she's definitely a little screwed up. She just wants to be loved all the time by anyone. And it's what's just will to do for love...

"She kind of takes Jaime into her wing and tries to protect her in a very, very weird f-ed up way. She's very complex and has many, many layers to her. I don't think you'll ever know what's going on in her head."

The first episode is highlighted by a bionic battle in the rain between Sarah and Jaime, who is just discovering what her bionics can do.

Here's how NBC describes tonight's episode:

"When a devastating car accident leaves Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan) at death's door, her only hope of survival is a cutting-edge, top-secret technology performed by her boyfriend, Dr. Will Anthros (Chris Bowers), and with her new bionics come a covert life that she is not sure she is ready to lead. Meanwhile, the first bionic woman Sarah Corvus (guest-star Katee Sackhoff), has her own agenda as she tracks Jaime and Will down - which leads to a showdown between the two bionic women. Also, Will's father, Dr. Anthony Anthros (Mark Sheppard) escapes from a maximum security prison."

Top Cow Productions has announced it has pulled Aphrodite IX from its Pilot Season event.

Pilot Season, in which readers can vote online with two titles getting series, now consists of Ripclaw, Cyblade, Velocity, The Necromancer and The Angelus.

According to Top Cow, it has plans for Aphrodite IX, but has canceled its Pilot release in November as the final title in the series.

"The decision to cancel Aphrodite IX Pilot Season was a tough one," said Matt Hawkins, president of Top Cow. "The issue wasn't coming together in a way that would work for Pilot Season. We didn't want to risk delaying the voting process for Pilot Season or releasing a pilot issue we weren't completely happy with, so the responsible thing to do was to remove it from the promotion. Fans haven't seen the last of Aphrodite IX though."

In other Top Cow news, the publisher will release a 99-cent The Darkness: First Look in November in advance of the ongoing Darkness title in December.

The Darkness: First Look will feature an eight-page preview of the first issue along with additional behind-the-scenes material from writer Phil Hester and artist Michael Broussard. Hot on the heels of the stunning events of Top Cow's summer event First Born, Jackie Estacado has fled his old life and has established himself in a new locale with a new look and some shadowy new allies.

"I feel like I know huge secret and can't wait to let everyone in on it. Michael's art is a revelation and I believe the story will satisfy faithful Darkness fans while staking out new territory for the character," Hester said. "We're going all out to make the book scarier, smarter, sexier and weirder. I won't go as far as telling retailers to build on to their stores to accommodate the hordes of new readers, but I guarantee that The Darkness #1 will deliver."
