SMALLVILLE: "FIERCE"

The CW has released 11 images from "Fierce," the Thursday, Oct. 11 episode of Smallville.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Kara (Laura Vandervoort) desperately wants to make friends and fit in on Earth, but Clark (Tom Welling) tells her to keep a low profile until she can get her powers under control. Despite his warnings, when the 'Miss Sweet Corn' beauty pageant comes around, Kara signs up and meets the competition -- Tyler (Eva Marcille), Carly (Elisa King) and Tempest (Christine Chatelain) -- three meteor-infected vixens who plan to use their powers to steal a treasure map to the hidden Smallville time capsule. After Tyler witnesses Kara using her powers, the girls pretend to be her friends, but are really planning to use her for their devious plan."

BRIEFLY

* According to Variety, David Goyer is attached to direct a film based on Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire, an illustrated novel by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden.

The film is set up at New Regency, with Mignola and Golden slated to write the screenplay.

Goyer, whose writing credits include the Blade trilogy and Batman Begins, is also attached to direct a Magneto film for Fox.

* According to Entertainment Weekly, Jessica Biel has passed on playing Wonder Woman in the Justice League movie.

* Image Comics has announced that, due to a printing error, Jamie McKelvie's Suburban Glamour, his solo follow up to Phonogram, will now be in stores on Oct. 10.

"Sadly there are some aspects of producing a comic no one can control," McKelvie said. "Image has put the book back to press immediately to ensure release as soon as humanly possible. While I'm highly disappointed by the delay, I would rather the issue come out the way it was intended to."
