FLASH GORDON: "SECRETS AND LIES"

Sci Fi Channel has released three images from "Secrets and Lies," the Friday, Nov. 2 episode of Flash Gordon.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Zarkov discovers a way to open rifts to Mongo at special access points. He does, and he and Flash take an unplanned trip to Mongo in order to spare a hapless postman who's on a collision course with the rift."

Feature in the images are Jody Thompson as Azura, Jody Racicot as Hans Zarkov, Eric Johnson as Flash Gordon and Ty Olsson as Vultan.

BRIEFLY

* Hasbro has announced commemorative figure collections for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The three-figure collections will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart starting in mid-November.

* According to MTV, David Dobkin -- whose credits include Fred Claus and Wedding Crashers -- is now attached as director of Warner Bros.' Flash movie, which will spin out of Justice League.

Previously, Shawn Levy and David Goyer have been attached to the film.

* 30 Days of Night placed third at the box office in its second week of release. The film, based on the IDW Publishing comic book, took in $6.7 million, pushing its total to $27.3 million.

* Sunday's episode of Dexter on Showtime, "The Dark Defender," will feature cameo appearances by writer Dan Wickline and artist Tone Rodriguez.
