GREEN LANTERN MOVIE GETS DIRECTOR

Warner Bros. has tapped Greg Berlanti to direct a live-action Green Lantern movie.

Berlanti, 35, will write the movie with a pair of television writers/producers who have dipped into comics: Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.

Berlanti's television credits include Dirty Sexy Money, Brothers & Sisters, Everwood, Jack & Bobby and Dawson's Creek. He directed the 2000 feature film The Broken Heats Club.

Guggenheim, who works with Berlanti on the telvision series Brothers & Sisters, has written such comics titles as Wolverine, Blade and The Flash: Fastest Man Alive. Green, a co-executive producer of Heroes, also worked with Berlanti before and has written such comics as Superman/Batman.

Donald De Line will produce.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will feature Hal Jordan and his origin story.

* Image Comics has announced that Jamie McKelvie's Suburban Glamour #1 has sold out at the distribution level.

* Dark Horse Comics has announced Alien vs. Predator: Sand Trap, a stand-alone story written and illustrated exclusively for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment for inclusion in the limited edition AVP Ultimate Showdown Collectors Set.

The AVP Ultimate Showdown Collectors Set, available on Nov. 27, will include every film from the Alien and Predator franchises (15 discs total), exclusive collectible Alien and Predator figurines, and two tickets to see Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, which opens on Christmas Day.
