MARVEL STUDIOS ROUNDUP

In its financial report for the third quarter, Marvel Entertainment has revealed that Thor will be featured in its seventh direct-to-DVD animated movie with Lionsgate.

The movie, which was written by Greg Johnson, is targeted for an April 2009 release, following Next Avengers in July 2008 and Hulk Smash in October 2008.

Marvel is now listing Fantastic Four as "running internationally" as the series remains off the schedule of Cartoon Network. Wolverine and the X-Men and Iron Man are now listed for fall 2008 launches, and a new Hulk series is listed as "in development."

In other news from the report and subsequent conference call:

* Punisher: War Zone is targeted for a 2008 release, with production underway.

* Marvel's David Maisel said the production estimates for Iron Man and Incredible Hulk movies will be in the $100-$160 million range.

* Maisel said the Writers Guild strike should not impact Marvel's 2008 activities and it remains to be seen how it will impact 2009.

* Maisel said he is "very excited" about the toy lines from Hasbro for both Iron Man and Incredible Hulk.

* Maisel said Incredible Hulk has two weeks left in principal photography. He said post-production work on Iron Man will continue through to its delivery date, which will be some five weeks before the film's release.
