WANTED MOVED TO JUNE 27

Universal Pictures announced on Wednesday it is moving the release date of Wanted from March 28 to Friday, June 27.

Wanted has been placed in the middle of two other Universal comics-based movies: Incredible Hulk on June 13 and Hellboy II: The Golden Army on July 11.

In making the date-change announcement, Nikki Rocco, Universal Picturesı President of Distribution, said, "After an early look at Wanted, we are certain that it fulfills its promise as a stunning, committed, thrilling, eye-popping vision that introduces a bold new narrative.

"We believe it can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the event titles of the summer and will give audiences a chance to discover a fresh new alternative. We are excited to date the film on June 27."

Wanted is based on the Top Cow comic-book series by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones. It is directed by Timur Bekmambetov from a screenplay by Michael Brandt, Derek Haas and Chris Morgan.

The film stars James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, Terence Stamp, Thomas Kretschmann and Common. Music is by Danny Elfman.

FIRST LOOK: I AM LEGEND

The Continuum today kicks off a series of reports from the I Am Legend movie with a look at 21 publicity stills released by Warner Bros.

I Am Legend, based on the novel by Richard Matheson, stars Will Smith. Arriving in theaters on Dec. 14, the film is directed by Francis Lawrence, the director of Constantine, from a screenplay by Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman.

Here's how Warner Bros. describes the film:

"Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague -- the Infected -- lurk in the shadows...watching Neville's every move...waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered...and quickly running out of time."

IDW PUBLISHING'S DOCTOR WHO

IDW Publishing has provided The Continuum a look at the first three covers and two interior pages from the first issue from its new Doctor Who series.

The series, written by Doctor Who story editor Gary Russell, will debut in January.

"Doctor Who is finally coming to comics over here," says Chris Ryall, IDW publisher and editor-in-chief. "These are the first Doctor Who comics in the United States in three decades, and the first ever created just for the American market."

Each issue will be a stand-alone story, like a TV episode, and will have elements that carry over throughout the series.

Here's how IDW describes the book:

"Along with his loyal friend and companion Martha Jones of London, the Doctor faces down threats to stop darkness and evil from spreading throughout the cosmos -- and, while they're at it, they also hunt for the galaxy's best chocolate milkshakes. Unknown to them, however, forces have set their sights on the good Doctor: As the last of the Time Lords, he is, after all, highly collectible to the right people."

Artists include Nick Roche, Josep Maria Beroy and Stefano Martino, with Roche supplying covers.
