SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2007COMING SUNDAYTelevision news -- and more!
In a new promotional spot on Saturday morning, Kids' WB! unveiled the animated look of the Vulture for next year's The Spectacular Spider-Man series.
The Vulture figures to be the villain in the show's first episode, tentatively titled "Survival of the Fittest" and written by Greg Weisman.
In the episode, Adrian Toomes is an older scientist who claims that Oscorp has stolen his flying technology. Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius are also featured.
The Vulture will also appear later in the first season, The Continuum has learned, perhaps as part of a Sinister Six that was teased at Comic-Con International.
The spot that aired Saturday also revealed that, through an apparent artistic choice, the size of Spider-Man's eyeholes will change to reflect emotion.
The Spectacular Spider-Man is targeted for a March launch on Kids' WB!. Click on the thumbnails for larger images and look for more on the series soon here in The Continuum.
DARK HORSE'S JOSS WHEDON BOOKSMarch figures to be a significant month for Dark Horse Comics' Joss Whedon titles, with a new Serenity mini-series and the start of a new arc for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Serenity: Better Days is a three-issue mini-series that launches on March 12. It is written by Whedon and Brett Matthews, with art by Will Conrad and covers by Adam Hughes.
The series is a step back in time to the early years of the Firefly crew, and the fledgling gang's turbulent attempts to cope with success after they pull off their first successful heist.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #12, due in stores on March 5, kicks off the "Wolves at the Gate" story arc.
The story is written by Drew Goddard, whose television credits include Buffy, Angel, Lost and Alias. He also wrote the upcoming film Cloverfield.
In "Wolves at the Gate," the gang -- including Dawn -- travels to Tokyo where they duel vampires with unusual, yet strangely familiar, powers.
Georges Jeanty continues as artist. Jon Foster and Jeanty provide covers for #12.
