WITCHBLADE: THE COMPLETE SERIES

Warner Home Video has announced a July 29 release for Witchblade: The Complete Series, a DVD collection of the TNT show based on the Top Cow Productions comic book.

The seven-disc set includes all 23 episodes from Seasons 1 and 2, the original made-for-TV movie and never-before-seen bonus features. It is priced to own at $69.98.

Here's how Warner describes the show:

"Witchblade is the story of a New York detective, Sara 'Pez' Pezzini, whose search for justice brings her into contact with the Witchblade, an ancient, intelligent, living weapon so powerful it can battle Earth's darkest evil forces. Week in and week out, 'Pez' employs her skills as a police detective to fight crime. She finds she must employ the Witchblade to combat a much greater and frighteningly organized conspiracy of evil that threatens the very soul of humanity. As Sara tries to keep the secret of the Witchblade, do her job and have a personal life, she finds that her most formidable adversary may be the Witchblade itself."

"Warner Home Video is excited to bring this highly requested series to its loyal fans," said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV and Special Interest Marketing. "The TV to DVD trend remains strong and WHV plans to continue releasing fan-favorite series."

Bonus features will run about 55 minutes and include:

* Bringing the Blade to Life.

THE SIMPSONS: "PAPA DON'T LEECH"

The Dixie Chicks and Beverly D'Angelo guest-star in "Papa Don't Leech," the Sunday, April 13 episode of The Simpsons on Fox.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"When Mayor Quimby realizes the city of Springfield has gone broke, Homer suggests they feign a natural disaster in order to obtain relief funds from the federal government. When the plan goes awry, Lisa goes through the town's financial records only to discover millions in uncollected city taxes. Springfield hits up its most notorious tax evaders, and Lurleen Lumpkin (D'Angelo), a country music star Homer once managed, remains the last outstanding debtor.

"As Springfieldians scour the city to find her, Marge reluctantly permits the fugitive to stay with the family, creating a very interesting dynamic in the Simpson household."

The Dixie Chicks play themselves in the episode.
