THE BLACK PANTHER ON BET

Black Entertainment Television (BET) has announced an animated series based on Marvel Comics' The Black Panther.

The series is scheduled to begin the first quarter of 2009.

Here's how the series was described at BET's upfront presentation:

"From Marvel Comics, who brought the world Spider-Man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four and Iron Man, comes a primetime animated series featuring the first Black superhero. A wise and just African warrior king. A technologically advanced superhero with a proud past."

BET's Reginald Hudlin has written Marvel's Black Panther title.

THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN: "CATALYSTS"

Kids' WB! has released two new images of Green Goblin from "Catalysts," the Saturday, April 26 episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Here's how the episode is described:

"The episode takes place on the night of the Midtown High Fall Formal, and Peter Parker finds his overconfidence is nearly his undoing -- as both a teenager and a super hero. While his date, Mary Jane Watson, threatens to invert Midtown's social structure, Pete lets her popularity go to his head. So when the mysterious, murderous Green Goblin tries to force L. Thompson Lincoln (a.k.a. Tombstone) to step down as NYC's Big Man of crime, will Spider-Man take this new threat seriously enough -- or will he be so cocky that he loses his big head?"

Steve Blum is providing the voice of Green Goblin. He is also doing the voice of Wolverine in NickToon's upcoming Wolverine and the X-Men.
