NEW YORK COMIC CON: THE SPIRIT

The Spirit returned to New York City Comic Con on Saturday.

This time, director Frank Miller, unable to attend last year because of an injury, was on hand -- along with star Eva Mendes and producers Deborah Del Prete and Michael Uslan.

A first teaser for the film was shown, and Miller also talked about the second -- and third -- Sin City movies.

NEW YORK COMIC CON: THE DARK KNIGHT

The new trailer for The Dark Knight was shown at New York Comic Con on Saturday as part of Warner Bros' presentation.

DC Comics publisher Paul Levitz introduced the trailer. He said it will premiere in theaters in about two weeks.

"It's an incredible piece of work with an astounding cast and astounding performances," Levitz said of the movie. "Chris (Nolan, director) really set out to beat the performance of Batman Begins."

Levitz denied requests for a second view of the trailer and asked that details of the trailer not be repeated, but he hinted there might be a way of seeing it soon.



NEW YORK COMIC CON: THE INCREDIBLE HULK

Three scenes -- including the appearance of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark -- and the new trailer highlighted Universal Pictures' The Incredible Hulk panel.

NEW YORK COMIC CON: HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY

Writer/director Guillermo del Toro and cast members Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones and Luke Goss appeared at New York Comic Con on Saturday to promote Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

NEW YORK COMIC CON: MAKE MINE MARVEL

Marvel Comics took a new spin on its panels with its Make Mine Marvel presentation on Saturday at New York Comic Con.

Hosted by editor Nick Lowe, the panel featured interview with Omega: The Unknown writer Jonathan Lethem, Punisher and Immortal Iron Fist writer Duane Swierczynski, Fantastic Four artist Bryan Hitch and Ultimate Iron Man writer Orson Scott Card.

The creators talked about their current projects, with some new announcements as well.

SMALLVILLE: "QUEST"

The CW has released a description from "Quest," the Thursday, May 8 episode of Smallville.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Clark (Tom Welling) meets the last memeber of Veritas. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) is attacked by a cloaked stranger who carves kryptonian symbols into his chest -- a message for Clark. Chloe (Allison Mack) and Clark investigate and discover one member of the Veritas clan has survived and is hiding in a church. Clark and Lex race to be the first to find this mysterious Veritas member, who holds the key to Clark's survival."

Ken Biller directed the episode, which was written by Holly Harold.
