NEW YORK COMIC CON: MARVEL COMICS CHESTERQUEST

NEW YORK -- C.B. Cebulski's Chesterquest talent search was so productive, it landed Marvel Comics more than the 12 artists originally sought.

"I and Marvel couldn't be more pleased," Cebulski said at a New York Comic Con panel that announced the winners on Friday. Cebulski traveled all over the world, and seemed to find the most talent in Italy.

Marvel is creating a new anthology, House of Ideas, to showcase the artists beginning this fall. Many of the artists have already been given assignments, however.

Those artists include:

* Antonio Fuso (Italy), X-Force Special.

* Daniel Maia (Portugal), X-Force Special.

* Jon Landry (U.S.), Marvel Adventures Thor.

* David LaFuente (Spain), Hellcat.

* Matteo Lolli (Italy), Marvel Adventures Iron Man.

* Andre Coehlo (Brazil), Ms. Marvel.

* Scott Wegener (U.S.), Punisher War Journal.

* Marco Turini (Italy), Squadron Supreme.

* Jacopo Camagni (Italy), Marvel Adventures.

* Vincenzo Cucca (Italy), She-Hulk.

* Marco Castiello (Italy), Secret Invasion Frontline.

Artists working the anthology include Christian Nauck (Germany), Damon Hendricks (U.S.), Joe Suitor (U.S.), Matteo Scalera (Italy), Michele Bertilorenzi (Italy), Paul Davidson England, Tomasson Bennato (Italy), Serene Ficca (Italy), Thomas LaBaurot (France), Stephen Thompson (Ireland), Sara Pichelli (Italy), Stephen Thompson (Ireland) and Shaun Turnbull (Canada).

Covers will come Joy Ang (Canada), Olivier Vatine (France), Piotr Cieslinski (Poland) and Matteo De Longis (Italy).

Cebulski said Marvel will likely conduct another worldwide search.

"Marvel asked me to do it all over again," he said "It was very successful, but I'm going to have to bow out. I'm just exhausted."
